Semantic Satiation
Semantic satiation is a psychological phenomenon that occurs when words or letters start to look off, or lose meaning. Have you ever looked at a word for so long, that it starts to look wrong? That is semantic satiation. These compositions each exclusively use one typeface to demonstrate this phenomenon.
I hope this feeling of "Semantic Satiation" comes over you. That you begin to realize these glyphs we use everyday are arbitrary. The composition above uses only the typeface, Stempel Garamond.
Using Neue Haas Grotesk Bold, we are able to see that these glyphs we see every day can create more than just words. Using this typeface has a much more modern and simplistic tone compared to the Stempel Garamond typeface.
